I have recently completed EMDR therapy with Heather and I can honestly say it is the best thing I have ever done! Heather is one of the most caring and supportive people I have ever met and I would recommend her to absolutely anyone! During my time doing therapy with Heather, she has helped me overcome so much and the difference I now feel in my mental health is amazing. EMDR therapy is life changing. Heather is a great listener, if you are looking for a therapist – don’t look any further!
Helped me understand what to do help me get back on track. The sessions were really helpful compared to other places I’ve been. Really professional. Would recommend to anyone needing this service.
I started CBT not knowing what it was or whether it would help. I have had 12 sessions and each session has been helpful. Now I have come to the end and looked back to where I was to where I am now, I can’t believe it!
I can whole-heartedly recommend Heather’s service. I have had a very long battle with mental issues and I was at a point where nothing seemed to be working. My wife found Heather on Facebook and arranged a meet up on my behalf.
Heather’s well explained, caring and thoughtful approach suited me very well and I find myself in a far better place than I have been for a number of years. There’s still some distance to cover but I am happy in the knowledge that I have Heather’s support should I revert to my former ways. Thanks Heather!
I saw Heather a couple of years ago whilst suffering from work related stress. Heathers treatment got me back to work, and she taught me techniques to deal with what I was going through, and to deal with everyday pressures that family life throws at you.
I use these techniques as part of my everyday life now, and have never looked back. At the time it was the worst feeling in the world, and hard to admit there was something wrong, but I am so glad I sought the help I needed and couldn’t have asked for a more sympathetic, patient and caring person as Heather.
I highly recommend Heather, and can honestly say that I feel a more rounded and understanding person since receiving her treatment, and have learnt to appreciate that we are not perfect, and us working mums cannot be superwoman, and it’s okay to put yourself first at times. Thank you so much.
In June this year I found myself in a position where I needed help and I didn’t know where to turn. My husband found Heather by seeing her page on FB. We contacted her and I arranged an initial visit. I was really worried before, that I would find it difficult to open up and be able to deal with what I was going through… Heather was really easy to talk to, professional but personable and knew how to help me.
I began a course of EMDR, at times I found it difficult but Heather ensured I was aware of how I might feel and that reassured me. Slowly but surely I started to just feel better without really noticing when it happened. My life is very different now, I have things to work on but I have confidence that I can do it. I am not in complete darkness and fear anymore, that’s thanks to Heather.
Recognising and Dealing with Mental Health in the workplace. October 2018
The course covered a lot of information, was delivered in concise chunks that were easy to absorb. The structure was clear, logical and effective. I appreciate the time spent beforehand listening to our needs and understanding the nature of our service and how we operate, so that it was delivered to the level of our employees. The engaging style in which it was delivered set the tone for a successful staff in-service development day.
Your knowledge helped our staff recognise the importance of understanding mental health in the workplace. We enjoyed it greatly and wish you continued success in your work helping others recognise and deal with the importance of Mental Health.
My daughter has found the experience very helpful. We would recommend this service highly.
It has opened me up to new ways of dealing with my difficulties. I have gone from having very negative feelings and attitudes to being able to feel much happier in myself and this change has taken place over a short amount fo time! My therapist could not have made me feel more at ease. By feeling relaxed in their company, I was able to open up about my problems without difficulty.
Walking away from each session made me feel better and now that the process is complete I can take the new ways of thinking I have learnt into the future.
I especially value information on being ‘mindful’ and non-judgemental practice.
I was seen quickly and allowed to express myself without feeling judged or embarrassed about past events. I have been able to understand myself, my triggers and my solution in a way that was self reflective and guided.
Yorkshire Psychotherapy has helped me bring my life back on track.
I was immediately at ease with Heather despite coming for anxiety related problems I never felt worried about talking to her openly. She has such a lovely non-judgemental manner and is very easy to talk to. I was initially skeptical about EMDR, not knowing much about it. However, I am so impressed by how much it has helped me.
The sessions were not easy, but they always ended with me feeling slightly better. Those close to me have really noticed a positive difference in my mental health as I have come to the end of my sessions.
I would definitely recommend going to Yorkshire Psychotherapy and Heather if you have any anxiety and to help get over traumatic events in your life that still affect you. It has really helped me and I’ll always be grateful to Heather for that.
