About Alison:

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience of working therapeutically with adults around their mental health and wellbeing, and I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients. I also work as a clinical supervisor and CBT lecturer. I have lived experience of long-term health conditions, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and ADHD.
I am passionate about helping others to understand themselves and their emotions, develop self-acceptance, self-compassion and to live authentically. I aim to work holistically and collaboratively to help people overcome current or longstanding difficulties in a wide variety of areas including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma and emotional dysregulation including rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD).
I offer a warm, empathic, neuro-affirming approach, and use a range of therapeutic techniques in my clinical practice including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and skills derived from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I deliver online therapy sessions via Microsoft Teams.
