Andrew Kemp
CBT Therapist - Adults
Price per session: £125
My name is Andrew Kemp, I’m a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
I have been practising CBT for over 10 years and worked with thousands of clients, within the NHS, through charities and privately. I currently work for a psychotherapy charity in Leeds, working alongside the NHS to offer CBT.
I aim to work in a way that helps the client to feel comfortable yet challenged. I speak in plain English and don’t overcomplicate things. It’s about finding the style and techniques that work for the individual and everyone is exactly that, individual.
I believe that the key to effective therapy is to have a strong, trusting relationship and for client and therapist to work together, as equals. I work hard to achieve that therapeutic relationship and find a style that works for the individual.
I have significant experience working with depression and anxiety disorders including OCD, GAD (worry), Social Anxiety, Phobias, Stress, and Health Anxiety. I have a keen interest in the impact of Covid-19 on mental health and specialise in CBT for weight loss and associated low self-esteem.
