Kathy Allatt
Counsellor - Adults
Price per session: £70 remote, £80 face to face
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor and work with the person-centred model of therapy. I offer online and telephone counselling sessions, face-to-face and walk and talk therapy to adult clients across the UK. I also have extensive experience as a nurse working clinically within the NHS.
I am a caring, compassionate and empathic person and feel that these qualities help me to connect with people and develop therapeutic relationships which enable us to connect on a deeper level. I will create a space where you are safe to share without the fear of judgement.
I have significant experience working as a neonatal intensive care nurse supporting families to care for and bond with their sick or preterm babies. I understand that the neonatal journey is a rollercoaster of emotions and that transitioning from hospital to home can feel overwhelming. Exploring these feelings and fears within the counselling setting can help to understand the enormity of the challenges you have faced and explore how you can cope with the future. I have also supported many families with the loss of a baby. I believe that I can offer a space to guide parents through the grief and trauma of their devastating experience and support you to live alongside your grief.
My clinical experience within the NHS means that I understand how there is often a link between physical illness and our mental well-being. Having worked clinically throughout the pandemic I have a deep understanding of the pressures that healthcare workers are facing and feel that I could support you if you are struggling with work related issues.
