Lynne Mappin

CBT Therapist - Adults

Price per session: £110

with over 10 years experience working with people with common mental health problems such as stress, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, perfectionism, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I have worked for both the NHS and privately and really enjoy seeing people transform their lives.

I work in a goal focussed way, agreeing with you what you want to get out of sessions and work collaboratively with you to help you get the most out of CBT. We will identify the thoughts and behaviours that are keeping you stuck in your current vicious cycle and I will support you with skills and techniques to help you work your way through your problems and enable you to live a happier and more value based life. As well as a main focus on CBT I have also undertaken training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and also Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) which I feel enhance my core CBT skills.

I believe therapy is most helpful when you are able to build a strong therapeutic relationship with your therapist. I endeavour to be honest and open with you and treat you in a compassionate and non-judgemental manner. I have worked with many people who are nervous about starting therapy and I take the time to discuss the process with you and help you to feel as comfortable as possible. I work alongside you to help you overcome your current difficulties and guide you through the techniques that will give you the most benefit, both now and in the future.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have public liability insurance. I can offer both face to face and Zoom appointments and look forward to offering you an assessment appointment where I can find out more about your current difficulties and discuss treatment options with you.
